Located in the heart of Quebec, L'Antiquaire Buffet has quickly garnered a reputation as a must-visit Canadian restaurant. Customers rave about the vibrant atmosphere and the friendly, bilingual staff who cater to both locals and tourists alike. Valeria Bolanos-Cacho describes the coffee and food as “great,” pledging to return for more. David Brandt echoes this sentiment, praising the teamwork evident among the thirteen staff members and declaring the local fare “delicious” despite the wait during the lunch rush.
Ana Lopez highlights the delightful poutine and bean soup, emphasizing the well-portioned meals that provide a satisfying fuel for the day without overwhelming diners. The prices may be on the higher side, but the enchanting ambiance and excellent cuisine certainly justify the expense. For those who enjoy unique experiences, Timos Labrinopoulos recommends the corn-based soup and la cipaille, a savory pie filled with veal and pork, all beautifully finished with a sponge cake drenched in maple syrup.
Additionally, Jey L. lauds the speedy service and the joy of dining on the charming patio, particularly savoring the exceptional spreadable caramel on toast. Overall, L'Antiquaire Buffet seems to strike the perfect balance between quality ingredients and a warm atmosphere, making it a delightful culinary destination in Quebec.

Well worth the wait! We arrived near the end of the lunch rush and waited about 15 minutes to be seated. A local recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. A great variety of local food and everything we tried was delicious. We were also impressed by the teamwork between cooks and servers. Thirteen people working in a small area and everyone worked so well together!

I got a Poutine and the bean soup, my friend got the breakfast poutine and everything was VERY GOOD. Portion sizing is good, not too big like american breakfast sizing, but enough to fuel you up for the day. Prices are a bit high, but the location and atmosphere as well as the food make it all worthwhile. Staff was very friendly and they do speak English for tourist if you need.

Had the corn based soup and la cipaille (a pie with veal, pork and potatoes cooked for 12 hours in the oven) which was delicious. A sponge cake in maple syrup completed the meal.

we were looking for a nice breakfast place and I am so happy we came here. Food came out in 5 minutes, we were able to enjoy it at their beautiful patio. Waitress is the friendliest person even. Spreadable caramel is out of this world! Tastes so good on a toast. I hope to be back someday in this lifetime.

Omgoodness this spot is so so so good. It is a diner without the grease. The food is clean, fresh & so tasty. Eggs cooked perfectly. French fries crispy & fluffy at the same time. French toast cooked to perfection. Clubhouse sandwich made with care & very flavorful. Super cute & very very clean. Our server was a delight & accommodating & super nice. This is the kind of spot you want to eat at every day you are in Quebec. That is what I will be doing!!! A must visit when in Quebec.

Beyond pleased by the servers and everyone who works there. I chatted with almost everybody working that day and they were all so kind and friendly. Especially our two servers, they nicely went over the menu with me. They also let me know the food quantity of different dishes to make sure I don’t over-order and end up wasting it. I really liked the honesty and thinking. I wish I remembered their names :( They were very kind to me (an Indian) which wasn’t the case at some other restaurants. I will DEFINITELY go back there when I visit Quebec City next time.

A unique brunch experience with friends in Quebec City! The dishes were incredibly tasty and well worth the wait. We stood in line for almost 45 minutes, but I’d definitely come back again!
